Skoda Slavia Launch Timelines Revealed - 1.0 TSI Launch On February 28 | V3Cars

Skoda India have revealed the launch timelines of the Slavia. Skoda will announce the price of the Slavia 1.0L TSI on February 28th. The launch of the 1.5L TSI will take place on March 3rd. Customer test drives and deliveries will begin soon after the launch of the respective engine options.

Skoda India head, Zac Hollis, shared on Twitter, “Despite the industry challenges, I am happy to share that we are delivering on our committed timelines for the launch of both the 1.0 L and 1.5 Slavia”. Skoda India announced the pre-bookings for the Slavia back in November 2021. This long timeframe would have given Skoda enough time to mass-manufacture the Slavia.

As you can see from the table above, the upcoming Skoda Slavia is the widest, offers the longest wheelbase and the largest boot in its segment. In addition to that, the Slavia offers 179mm of ground clearance, which is the tallest in its segment.

The 2022 Slavia will come with the usual features we expect from a car of this class. The prominent ones are:

As far as powertains are cocerned, the Slavia will share its engine and gearbox options with the Kushaq. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine will produce 115PS of power and 175Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine will produce 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Skoda India is likely to price the Slavia in the region of Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 17 lakh ex-showroom. It will take on the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.
