Skoda India have grown since the launch of the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan. Skoda are now expanding their reach to the Vietnamese market and plan to offer their products from as early as 2023.

Skoda India have grown since the launch of the Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan. Skoda are now expanding their reach to the Vietnamese market and plan to offer their products from as early as 2023.

Skoda will enter Vietnam with their European models, such as the Octavia, Superb, Koroq and Kodiaq. Skoda will directly import these models from Europe starting 2023. The Czech carmaker has joined hands with a local partner in Vietnam named TC Motor.

TC Motor will set up an assembly plant for the made-in-India Skoda Kushaq and Slavia, Skoda India will then export CKD units of the Kushaq and Slavia to TC Motor from 2024. The Kushaq will be available in the first half of 2024, followed by the Slavia in the second half of the same year. Skoda project annual sales of 30,000 vehicles initially and expect sales to grow to 40,000 vehicles annually.

On the announcement, Piyush Arora, Managing Director of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) shared, “Exports remain a fundamental pillar of ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India’s growth plan. After the successful launch of the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus in global markets, we recently rolled out the ŠKODA KUSHAQ to the AGCC markets. Now we are gearing up to introduce the ŠKODA KUSHAQ and SLAVIA in the Vietnamese market, which is an important milestone for the team in India. With its significant success in the local and overseas markets, our INDIA 2.0 project remains a key driver in the Group’s endeavour to ‘Engineer cars in India to be Driven by the World’.”
