The Altroz iTurbo is powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It makes 110PS of maximum power and 140Nm of peak torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This turbocharged engine makes 24PS and 27Nm more than the standard 1.2-litre naturally petrol engine. Tata has not yet introduced an automatic transmission on the Altroz iTurbo but it is expected to go on sale at a later stage. The Altroz iTurbo can sprint from 0-100 kmph in under 12 seconds with a claimed fuel economy of 18.13kmpl.
Cosmetic changes on the Altroz iTurbo are very limited in nature. It only gets an iTurbo badge at the back to set it apart from the standard model. It also gets a blacked-out roof and a new Harbor Blue shade but both of these are being offered as optional on the standard Altroz as well.
Similarly, on the features front, the only additions come in the form of two more tweeters and a ‘Sport’ drive mode. Other features remain similar to the standard Altroz which gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, leatherette seats, ambient lighting, cruise control, semi-digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and connected car tech with voice command support.
With prices ranging from Rs 7.73 lakh to Rs 8.85 lakh, the Altroz iTurbo undercuts its rivals, the Hyundai i20 Turbo and the Polo TSI, by a good margin. Here is a price comparison.
