Tata Curvv, Curvv EV Also Achieve 5-star Safety Rating In BNCAP Crash Tests | V3Cars

Along with the Nexon ICE (petrol/diesel), Bharat NCAP also revealed the crash test ratings for the Tata Curvv ICE and Curvv EV. They too earned full 5-stars in adult safety as we (and everyone else) expected.

Tata Curvv, Curvv EV Score 5-Star Rating

Tata offer the largest number of 5-star rated cars in India. Currently, they are simultaneously retaining a total of following 9 cars with a 5-star safety rating, either from BNCAP or GNCAP:

  • Punch
  • Punch EV
  • Altroz
  • Nexon
  • Nexon EV
  • Curvv
  • Curvv EV
  • Harrier
  • Safari

Even among other cars, such as the Tiago, Tiago EV, Tigor, Tigor EV and Tiago NRG, they continue to enjoy a healthy 4-star safety rating.

How important it is to have a 5-star rating is up for debate but it has certainly helped them in gaining market share. In recent years, Tata have added 2 high-volume cars, both of which have managed to achieve the highest monthly volume on the sales charts for at least one month. The Punch and Nexon brands continue to churn out good numbers and they can easily sustain 5-figure-equivalent monthly demand without any marketing spends and discounts.

However, to hold and expand their presence, Tata continue to push them hard with offers, and in recent months, with price cuts too. This year alone (in 2024), Tata have revised the prices of pretty much all of their cars.

Among the most recent updates, Tata revised the variants and feature distribution of the Punch petrol/CNG to make it more value-friendly. If you go through the pros and cons section of the Punch variants explained article, you’ll notice that they have addressed a large chunk of the cons we have highlighted over the years.
