Tata Harrier Gets Sunroof As Official Accessory

Tata Harrier Gets Sunroof As Official Accessory

Tata has announced that it is offering an electric sunroof as a part of the official accessory list for the Harrier. The electric sunroof will set buyers back by Rs 95,100 plus installation charges. The sunroof is made by Webasto and carries a two-year warranty.

It must be noted that the sunroof on offer on the Harrier is an electric one, and not a panoramic, like the large one on offer on the MG Hector. Since it is an accessory, buyers can get it fitted on any of the four Harrier variants -- XE, XM, XT and XZ. Harrier’s prices start at Rs 13 lakh and go up to Rs 16.76 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Tata Harrier rivals the likes of the MG Hector and Mahindra XUV500 in the mid-size SUV space. While Hector is available with a panoramic sunroof in the top Sharp variant, the XUV500 can be had with an electric sunroof, like the Harrier. However, in the case of the XUV500, a sunroof is available as a factory-fitment W9 variant onwards.

The price of the sunroof-clad Hector starts from Rs 15.88 lakh (hybrid powertrain), while that of the XUV500 starts from Rs 15.82 lakh (diesel) (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Tata’s official statement regarding the addition of sunroof to the Harrier’s accessory list is as follows:

Launched in January 2019, Tata Harrier is the Company’s latest flagship SUV and has been one of the most popular and well-received products from its stable. This has been validated by over 10,000 Harriers running on Indian roads today. In a bid to enhance our offerings for our customers, Tata Motors is happy to announce the introduction of the electric sunroof on the Harrier through Tata Motors Genuine Accessories (TMGA). Existing and new Harrier Customers can avail of this feature by visiting the nearest Tata Motors dealership at a cost of Rs. 95,100 plus installation charges.

The Harrier Electric Sunroof H-300, manufactured by Webasto - a market leader that has developed and produced sunroofs for the automotive industry for more than 60 years, is installed by trained experts from Webasto to ensure seamless quality, and comes with a 2 year warranty from the date of installation. The H-300 sunroof offers a drought-free fresh air experience while creating a pleasant and bright vehicle interior. Additionally, the sunroof comes with a tinted protective Venus glass that deflects the UV radiation and sun rays regardless of the amount of incoming light. This latest introduction from Tata Motors promises to be a much sought after feature among the Harrier customers.
