The Tata Harrier remains one of the most imposing SUVs in its segment thanks to its bold design, strong road presence and comfortable highway-oriented driving experience. With recent updates, Tata has significantly improved the Harrier’s cabin technology, safety package and premium appeal. Competing against rivals like the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector and Jeep Compass, the Harrier stands out for its commanding stance, ride comfort and solid build feel.
The Harrier has one of the strongest road presences in the segment. The updated design introduces slimmer connected LED DRLs, revised bumper styling and sharper detailing that make the SUV look significantly more modern.
The wide stance, long bonnet and muscular proportions give the Harrier a premium SUV appearance that feels larger and more expensive than many rivals.
From the side, the SUV maintains clean proportions with large alloy wheels and strong shoulder lines enhancing its visual appeal. At the rear, the connected LED tail-lamps and redesigned bumper modernise the SUV considerably.
Compared to rivals like the Hector, the Harrier feels more muscular and premium, while the XUV700 appears slightly more futuristic.
Inside the cabin, Tata has made major improvements to the Harrier’s interior quality and technology integration. The new dashboard layout feels cleaner and far more premium than earlier versions.
The large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and ambient lighting significantly improve the cabin experience. Material quality feels solid throughout and the SUV now feels more premium overall.
Front seat comfort is excellent and the commanding driving position enhances visibility on highways. Rear-seat comfort is another major strength with generous legroom, wide seats and strong under-thigh support.
The cabin also feels spacious and practical for long-distance family travel.
The Harrier uses a diesel engine that suits its large dimensions and highway-focused character extremely well.
The engine delivers strong mid-range torque and feels effortless during overtaking and highway cruising. While refinement at lower speeds could still improve slightly, overall drivability remains impressive.
Ride quality is one of the Harrier’s biggest strengths. The suspension absorbs rough roads confidently while maintaining excellent high-speed stability.
Steering weight feels reassuring at highway speeds and the SUV feels planted even during long-distance touring. NVH insulation has also improved compared to earlier versions.
The Tata Harrier successfully combines strong road presence, premium styling and excellent ride comfort into a highly desirable SUV package.
While some rivals may offer petrol engine options or slightly better third-row practicality, the Harrier excels in highway comfort, cabin space and overall SUV appeal.
For buyers looking for a large, premium and comfortable SUV with commanding presence, the Harrier remains one of the strongest options in the segment.
