Tata has launched a new more affordable XTA variant of the Tiago automatic. It is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 50,000 more than its manual counterpart. Until now, the Tiago automatic was available only in three variants: XZA, XZA+ and XZA+ DT with XTA being the fourth variant. The base-spec XE variant remains the only variant in the lineup to not come with an option of automatic transmission. With the introduction of the XTA variant, the prices of the Tiago automatic has come down by Rs 47,000.

The Tiago automatic comes with a 5-speed AMT paired to a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It makes 86PS and 113Nm. Manual variants, on the other hand, come with 5-speed manual transmission.
In terms of features, the XTA variant is similar to the XT variant. It gets LED turn indicators on ORVMs, manual AC, tilt-adjustable steering, adjustable front headrests, all four power windows, keyless entry, manual day/night IRVM, electrically adjustable ORVMs and a ConnectNext Harman infotainment system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls. Safety features on offer include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and a puncture repair kit.
Prices of the Tiago now ranges from Rs 4.85 lakh to Rs 6.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will continue to take on likes of the Maruti Celerio, Maruti WagonR, Hyundai Santro and Datsun GO. Here is a price comparison:
