Tata Tiago Achieves 5 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone | V3Cars

The Tata Tiago hatchback has crossed the 5 lakh unit sales milestone since its launch in the country. Tata revealed that the last 1 lakh sales took place in a span of 15 months. Read on to know more about the Tata Tiago’s journey to 5 lakh unit sales.

Tata Tiago 5 Lakh Unit Sales Milestone

Tata Motors revealed that the average age of a Tiago buyer is 35 years. 60% of Tiago's sales come from urban markets and the remaining 40% from the rural markets. Furthermore, 10% of the Tiago buyers are females and over 71% of the Tiago buyers in FY23 are first-time car buyers.

Back in April 2016, Tata Motors launched the Tiago hatchback in the country at a starting price of Rs. 3.20 lakh ex-showroom. Since its launch, the Tiago received a major facelift back in 2020 along with the BS6 engine update. The BS6 engine update saw the discontinuation of the 1.05L turbo diesel engine and later in 2022, Tata Motors launched the Tiago CNG.

In September 2022, Tata Motors launched the Tiago EV and within 4 months of its launch, the electric hatchback achieved 10,000 unit sales. Currently, the Tiago is offered with petrol, CNG and electric powertrain options. Alongside the regular Tiago, Tata Motors also offer the Tiago NRG with a higher ground clearance and rugged exterior styling.
