In terms of designing, the sedan gets a V- shaped grille that integrates with the headlamps and a large air dam being the prominent highlight of the front end. At the rear, the upcoming sedan gets a sleeker pair of taillights along with a boot lip spoiler while riding on 17- inch multi- spoke alloy wheels.
t the inside, the 2019 Camry Hybrid will offer significant changes such as the centre console will get a new eight- inch touchscreen unit with a digital screen for instrument console, practical storage places, soft- touch material, wireless charging, dual- zone climate control, and a spacious cabin with powered seats. Other than these, 10 airbags and a host of active and passive safety equipments will be offered as well.
The international Camry Hybrid features nine airbags, rear cross- traffic alert, lane departure alert, traction control, ABS with EBD, blind spot monitoring system, pre- collision system, hill launch assist and radar-based cruise control as well as automatic LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), a wireless mobile charging pad, a head- up display, eight- way adjustable and ventilated front seats, a three- zone climate control, reclining rear seats and a nine- speaker JBL sound system. We can expect all the features from the international model to be offered in the Indian version as well except for the radar- based cruise control system.
In terms of powertrain, the all- new Toyota Camry Hybrid will get the same 2.5- litre four- cylinder hybrid- petrol powertrain as the existing model. The engine is capable of producing 175 bhp of maximum power and 221 Nm of peak torque which is mated to an 88 kW electric motor. On the other hand, the 208 bhp powertrain will get a six- speed CVT as the only transmission option.
The existing Toyota Camry Hybrid is priced at Rs 29.75 lakhs (ex- showroom, Delhi) and the next- gen model is likely to be priced Rs 50,000 to 60,000 over the current version.
