SUVs are the latest rage in the global auto market and they are also ruling the car market of India. Owing to the massive popularity and demands for the SUVs, all the auto majors are considering launching their own representatives in the increasingly growing Indian SUV market. Japanese car maker, Mitsubishi is also planning to soon launch its new Outlander in India. This news is not based on speculated reports and is confirmed, as the new Mitsubishi Outlander has already found its place on the official website of Mitsubishi India.
Mitsubishi India has also listed the specifications as well as the features of the upcoming new Outlander SUV for the domestic market. The new India-bound Outlander model in discussion is the third generation model which is fully overhauled both on the outside and on the inside.
The Japanese car manufacturer says that its new-gen Outlander SUV comes with a better drag co-efficient as compared to the current model, which has been improved by 7 percent. The officially posted pictures of the new Mitsubishi Outlander also show that the new model of the SUV has become much more aggressive looking with a sharper design language, which also makes it sleeker, more contemporary and more attractive looking than the outgoing model. It gets a fully new front fascia that is bolder and features a lot of sharp styling elements and stylish sleek headlights. Although it is not mentioned in the official details, Mitsubishi is expected to endow the new Outlander with full LED headlamps, as is the current trend.
Complementing the new look sharper exterior design language, the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV also comes with a revised cabin to offer a fresh look and feel inside out, while also enhancing its premium appeal. The new Outlander will be coming loaded with a plethora of up-class features which will include premium leather upholstery for the seats, a premium Rockford Fosgate music system, two-zone climate control, automatic rain sensing wipers, a panoramic sunroof and much more.
The 2017 Outlander will also be fully braced in terms of safety measures. The SUV will offer up to 7 airbags depending on the variant, while Anti-lock Braking system (ABS) along with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) will come as standard safety equipments across all the variants.
The third generation Mitsubishi Outlander will come equipped with choice of a 2.0 litre and a 2.4 litre engine, which will offer around 150 bhp to 180 bhp of max power output. Mitsubishi will also be offering a CVT gearbox choice along with paddle-shifters. As the Outlander is a hard-core off-roader, it will also come with the advantage of All Four Wheel Drive system as standard to take on any sort of terrains.
Upon its launch in India, the new Mitsubishi Outlander will lock its horns with the likes of the new Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tucson. Mitsubishi hasn’t mentioned any definite launch timeline for the SUV yet. The new Outlander is likely to have a price range of around Rs. 18 lakh – Rs. 24 lakh.
