Toyota India Trademark The Name ‘Taisor’ | V3Cars

According to a recent intellectual property filing, Toyota India have trademarked a new name ‘Taisor’. The proprietor Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha (also known as Toyota Motor Corporation) has registered the new name. However, it is not clear whether Toyota have registered this name for an SUV or for a different vehicle class.

Toyota Taisor

Toyota’s recent collaboration with Maruti Suzuki has enabled the company to successfully interpret the hatchback and the compact SUV market. This is evident in the sales figures of the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser. However, Toyota stopped selling the Urban Cruiser last month. Since then, there are rumors that the company will launch its replacement soon.

We expect Toyota to launch several new cars soon. One of these would replace the discontinued Urban Cruiser. This car will likely be a B2-segment SUV based on the new Brezza’s platform. Since Maruti Suzuki have already launched the new Brezza, we expect Toyota to announce their version of the Brezza soon. So, Taisor is most likely Toyota’s version of the Brezza.

It’s worth noting that Maruti Suzuki are also testing a new crossover (codenamed YTB). It will most likely share its platform and powertrain with the Baleno and go on sale sometime in 2023.

Toyota have also recently trademarked the ‘Innova Hycross’ name for their new generation Innova. The company will soon debut it in India and instead of replacing the Crysta, they may keep selling the Innova Crysta alongside the Hycross.

Toyota are popular across the world for making reliable, robust and abuse-friendly vehicles. The Qualis is the car, which helped them solidify this image in India and the Innova didn’t disappoint. They have launched several popular vehicles in the Indian automobile market, such as Innova, Fortuner, Camry and Corolla. Toyota are likely to showcase most of their new cars at the 2023 Auto Expo.
