by Mahesh Yadav on Wednesday, Jan 15 2020

Indian’s biggest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is getting its cars ready for Auto Expo 2020. Among the cars you will see at Maruti’s Auto Expo stall are a Future Electric car concept, 2020 Vitara Brezza facelift, Dzire facelift and Ignis Facelift.

    Maruti Suzuki Cars And SUVs

    Future Electric Concept

Maruti Suzuki has a reputation for showing at least one concept car at its Auto Expo pavilion. In 2016, it was the Ignis Concept, which arguably was far from a concept and in its near-production form. For 2018, we had the Futuro-S concept, which ended up as the S-Presso.

This year, we’re expecting Maruti Suzuki to showcase an electric vehicle concept to gauge the audience reaction. And given the craze around tall cars with high ground clearance, it’ll probably be an electric SUV of some kind.

    Vitara Brezza Facelift

The diesel-only Vitara Brezza is about to go petrol-only and about to get a design update. The Vitara Brezza has marched on without an update for about three and a half years. It’s now facing potent rivals with a wider gamut of powertrain options. So we expect Maruti Suzuki to present the redesigned Vitara Brezza at the Auto Expo 2020.

    Dzire Facelift

The Dzire launched in 2017 and its time to give it a styling update. Since the design has barely started to show age, we believe it might get nothing but a minor nip and tuck here and there. The updated Dzire is slated to go on sale sometime in 2020 and it’s likely to lose its diesel engines.

    Ignis Facelift

Unlike the Dzire, the Ignis is in desperate need of a makeover. Maruti Suzuki might showcase the 2020 Ignis Facelift at the Auto Expo 2020. We have already seen the images of the updated Ignis floating on the Internet. We believe that an aggressive exterior, higher ground clearance and some feature rejig to make the Delta and Zeta variants visually bearable should do the trick for this car. Otherwise, it may not live long enough to get a generation update. Currently, only the super expensive Alpha variant gets the LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, automatic AC with aeroplane-like flip switches and tablet-style touchscreen infotainment.

    Swift Sport

The Hyundai Aura Turbo makes Nios Turbo almost inevitable. As the competition in the hot hatch class heats up further, we can expect Maruti Suzuki showcase the 2-door Swift Sport.
