Volkswagen India is eyeing the corporate professionals with a corporate sales programme in order to boost its sales in the country. The newly introduced corporate sales programme will be covering a suite of offerings including offers on purchase, servicing of the vehicle, accessories as well as loyalty benefits. The automaker is looking to strengthen the brand’s proposition as an accessible premium luxury brand in the country with this initiative.
Speaking on the introduction of this initiative, Steffen Knapp, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said: “The customers have always been at the core of Volkswagen India’s offerings; whether it is our products or services. Through such initiatives, we continue to heighten the accessibility of our globally acclaimed products; while extending the reach of our comprehensive suite of sales and after sales services, to the country’s distinctive car buyer.”
The programme includes the entire product lineup available from Volkswagen India that includes the award-winning, premium luxury cars such as the Tiguan and all-new Passat. According to a statement released by the German automaker, under the Volkswagen corporate sales program, the company plans to target individuals from across sectors like information technology (IT), consultancy and banking. Apart from these, the manufacturer is also targeting doctors, lawyers, architects, chartered accountants, teachers and government employees, with benefits that will extend to immediate family members as well.
During the last fiscal, the company sold 45,329 units, down 9.41 per cent from 2016-17 where it sold 50,042 units. This clearly shows that VW has been struggling for quite some time in order to make its presence felt in the country. Now the company aims to almost double its market share in the country to 3 per cent over the next five years. The automaker is also looking forward to introduce other initiatives in for the customers in the Indian market soon followed by this Corporate Sales Program initiative in the near future.
