Here’s what Toyota Kirloskar Motor have to say about the 35th iCARE initiative:

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the successful completion of the 35th iCARE (i, Community Action to Reach Everyone) initiative under its Employee Volunteerism Program. This marks another milestone in Toyota’s journey to promote inclusive education and community development. Aligned with TKM’s core principles of continuous improvement (kaizen), respect for people and commitment to sustainable growth, the initiative focuses on strengthening science education for Government school students.

The event held on 14th December at Kengeri High School managed by the Kengeri Educational Trust saw the enthusiastic participation of over 500 TKM employees, families, students and faculty members turning the activity into an immersive on-site learning experience.

Emphasizing the value of practical hands-on learning, the initiative created meaningful opportunities to help students experience ‘Science in Action’ by building over 270 science models including series circuits, periscopes, magnetic cars, stethoscopes etc. in alignment with the State’s curriculum. This initiative has contributed to revitalizing the school’s existing science laboratory, transforming it into a more engaging and student-friendly space. The newly built models will enable over 500 students of Kengeri High School in gaining practical exposure to fundamental scientific concepts, enhancing their curiosity and improving their conceptual understanding. Through the science model building activities of the previous years, the iCARE initiative has cumulatively impacted over 1,000 students across multiple Government schools in Karnataka.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Senior Vice President and Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said

“Toyota being a brand with purpose is committed towards developing self-reliant, well-equipped learning environments and empowering young learners with the tools and practical learning solutions that they need to thrive. The hands-on science models are making science education more accessible and engaging for students. These efforts reflect TKM’s alignment with the ‘Skill India’ mission and contribution towards building a knowledgeable, future-ready generation”

This initiative is part of a broader series of activities under the iCARE program for FY 2025-26, showcasing TKM’s holistic approach to social responsibility. The initial activities in 2025 included ‘Empowering of Rural women through Self Help Groups (SHGs)’ in Bangalore University where the volunteers crafted over 1,000 eco-friendly natural soaps, directly supporting SHGs towards boosting their inventory and scaling up their micro enterprises to nearby villages. Additionally, by collaborating with local institutions and communities, TKM remains dedicated to creating sustainable and long-term impact across its six core CSR pillars: Education, Health & Hygiene, Environment, Skill Development, Road Safety and Disaster Management.
