With the normal petrol engine, we would not be recommending a higher, more feature-rich variant. This is because, given the price the engine will feel underpowered. However, for any reason, if you are still considering this powertrain and want to get some modern-day features as well, then you can choose to go for the XV over the XL variant, as it will be value-wise sensible.

In case of the turbo-petrol engine, we will recommend the XV variant over the XL variant, with both manual and automatic transmission options. This variant will be a sensible value-wise upgrade over the XL variant, aas it includes all must-have features along with a number of useful modern-day features. All these can offer you a better ownership experience.

Nissan is offering an optional Tech Pack as well with the XV variant, which offers added features like wireless charger, air purifier, JBL speakers, illuminated sill plates, ambient lighting and puddle lamps. To buy this tech pack, you’ll need to spend an additional premium of around Rs 39,000, which we think is reasonable.

    Rs 77,000

    Rs 9,49,000

This variant adds 3 safety-related features -- 360-degree parking camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and LED projector headlamps. Apart from these, this variant offers other added important functional features such as cruise control, rear AC Vents, front armrest and rear power outlet.

The top variant XV Premium also offers features like leather and fabric seat upholstery, leather wrapped steering and LED turn indicators.

You can check all the features that the XV Premium variant offers over the XV variant in the table below:

For these quality features, the additional asking price of the top XV Premium variant over the XV variant, is sensible. This is true, especially in the case of the turbo-petrol engine.

As the XV Premium doesn’t add-in any must-have feature, but useful good-to-have features only, it entirely depends on your personal choice whether you’ll choose to buy this variant or not. Hence, going for the top variant of the Magnite is fully up to your wish.

We would have liked it better, if Nissan offered multiple airbags option, at least in the top variant. Similar to the XV variant, the XV Premium variant also gets a Tech Pack option.

Nissan Magnite Variants - Which Variant To Buy?

After the price hike of the 2021 Nissan Magnite, if you wish to buy it equipped with the normal petrol engine, then we think that the XL variant will be the best option for you. This is because the XL variant covers all the must-have features, and its incremental cost over the base XE variant is totally justified. Above this, choosing the XV variant will be a value-wise sensible decision. Nevertheless, we would recommend the more powerful turbo-petrol engine with the higher variants, for better overall ownership experience.

However, as this variant adds primarily good-to-have features, so it depends entirely on your personal choice whether to buy this variant or not. This same verdict is also applicable for those who want to wish to buy the CVT version.
