Of course, for some buyers, the lack of features such as height-adjustable driver seat and electrically foldable ORVMs might be felt, but budget buyers will be satisfied with the E variant’s features list. Should you buy the Verna E or upgrade to the S variant instead?
What is the Comparison between Hyundai Verna Petrol Manual E Vs S Variant?
The Verna S variant is around Rs 36,000 more expensive than the E variant.

As per our internal data, the added features of the Verna S variant almost justify the Rs 36,000 additional premium. We’d recommend buyers to go for the factory-fitted music system of the S variant instead of getting the E and resorting to retrofitting an audio system in a brand new car.
What is the Comparison between Hyundai Verna Petrol Manual S Vs SX Variant?
The Hyundai Verna SX comes for an additional premium of Rs 1.4 lakh over the S variant.

In terms of styling features, the most important add-on is a sunroof. Apart from this, the SX variant also offers digital TFT-type instrument cluster, chrome door handles and 16-inch alloy wheels, along with leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.

We reckon the Verna SX offers great value for its additional premium of Rs 1.4 lakh owing to its number of added features. Because of its long feature list, most buyers would be happy with the SX variant, and thus, the Verna SX 1.5 petrol-manual variant is our top recommendation.
What is the Comparison between Hyundai Verna Petrol Manual SX Vs SX(O) Variant?
Hyundai Verna 1.5 petrol-manual SX(O) top variant is priced at Rs 12.68 lakh and costs around Rs 1.9 lakh more than the SX variant.

The SX(O) variant offers some added safety, entertainment, functional as well as style features over the SX variant. In terms of safety features, the biggest add-on is curtain airbags; it’s available only in this variant. Apart from this, the other important added safety features include - Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and LED Headlamps.
As Hyundai has already announced earlier, all its new car models will be coming with connected car tech, which means added internet connectivity related features. In the case of the Verna, only the top SX(O) variant gets this connected car tech.
Apart from these, this variant also boasts of additional features like Ventilated Front Seats, Telescopic Steering, Adjustable Rear Headrests, Diamond-cut Alloys and Leather Upholstery as well.
Here’s a list of all the features that you’ll find on the Verna SX(O):

As per our internal data, for its additional features, the SX(O) variant’s additional premium of Rs 1.9 lakh is a bit pricey. This is pretty disappointing, as despite some important safety features, we are not able to recommend the SX(O) as a value-for-money variant for the buyers.
What are the Variant wise Features of Hyundai Verna Petrol Automatic?
Hyundai Verna SX Automatic Variant

Only for the CVT type Automatic transmission, the Verna SX automatic is Rs 1.25 lakh more expensive than the SX manual. According to us, if you wish to go for an automatic variant of the Verna Petrol, then the best choice is the SX variant in terms of features as well as value.

The 2020 Verna is available with a 1.0-litre Turbo-charged petrol engine option only on the SX(O) variant, and it costs around Rs 2 lakh over the SX automatic.
The turbo-petrol engine is not significantly more powerful than the 1.5-litre engine, but Hyundai has launched it as a sporty powertrain. In terms of features, the Verna 1.0 SX(O) offers all those features that the regular SX(O) variant has to offer. However, there are some additional features on this powertrain, which includes black front grille, ORVMs and shark fin antenna, while there’s also a sporty interior with a black colour scheme along with red accents.

This variant also offers paddle shifters, while the safety perspective is also improved with rear disc brakes and front parking sensors. This variant comes for an additional Rs 14,000 over the SX(O) 1.5-litre CVT, while being Rs 2 lakh more expensive than the SX 1.5 CVT. It won’t be sensible to go for it over the SX automatic. As per us, this variant’s added features and the extra power of its engine doesn’t justify its additional premium.

Verdict - Which Variant of The 2020 Hyundai Verna Petrol should you Buy?
After analysing all the variants of the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift, it is apparent that, whether you wish to go for the manual or the automatic variant, the SX variant is the best package of features and value. Thus, the SX variant is our top recommended variant.
In the Verna manual range, if your budget is restrained, then you can go for the S variant, as it covers almost all the must-have features. In the case of both manual and automatic transmission variants, the SX(O) variant is quite expensive. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is exclusively available in the SX(O) variant. This variant offers some added features along with a dual-clutch automatic transmission. However, it does not justify its upgrade over the 1.5-litre SX CVT.
