Tata Safari Facelift Expected Specs

The Tata Safari facelift is likely to retain its 2.0L turbo diesel engine from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. In its current form, this engine puts out 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2500rpm. The 2.0L turbo diesel engine is likely to undergo revisions to comply with BS6 phase 2 emission norms. Currently, the Safari gets 2 transmission options –  6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Tata Safari Facelift Rivals

The Safari is a D1-segment SUV and it goes up against the likes of the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens and Toyota Innova Crysta. The latest offering from Toyota, the new Innova Hycross, falls under the D2-segment thanks to its increased length. However, we expect the new Innova Hycross to compete with the D1-segment cars, including the Safari facelift.
