Dual Clutch Transmission, or DCT, is a type of automatic transmission that’s available in a range of cars at varying prices. DCTs can be found on some of the fastest, meanest machines on the planet, such as the Ferrari 812 Superfast or the Bugatti Chiron, to daily workhorses, such as the Hyundai Creta.
Here, we have listed the most affordable cars with DCT automatic transmission that you can buy for under Rs. 12.0 lakh (ex-showroom).
1. Tata Altroz
The most affordable car with a DCT option on this list is the Tata Altroz DCA. Tata Motors launched the DCT-equipped Tata Altroz DCA in March 2022, 2 years after the launch of the Altroz manual. The Altroz DCA gets a 7-speed wet-type DCT specially designed for Indian road conditions. It is paired with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder normal petrol engine which produces 86PS of power and 113Nm of torque. The Altroz DCT is priced from Rs. 8.55 lakh to Rs. 10.56 lakh (ex-showroom).

In the process, the Tata Nexon B2-segment SUV also gained a dual-clutch transmission like the Tata Altroz above. However, unlike the Altroz, the Tata Nexon DCT comes with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. Hence, it produces more power and torque than the hatchback. 120PS of power and 170Nm of torque to be precise. The 2023 Tata Nexon DCT is priced from Rs. 11.70 lakh to Rs. 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

The prices of i20 N-Line DCT start from Rs. 11.10 lakh and go up to Rs. 12.47 lakh.
4. Hyundai Venue and Venue N Line
Unlike the i20, the Hyundai Venue gets the option of a DCT automatic transmission with both the standard variants as well as the sportier Venue N Line variants. Both get the same 7-speed DCT automatic transmission mated to a 1.0L turbo petrol engine as the i20 N Line. The prices of Venue DCT start from Rs. 11.43 lakh and go up to Rs. 13.48 lakh, while the Venue N Line is priced from Rs. 12.80 lakh to Rs. 13.90 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
