Just 10 days after announcing the ex-showroom price of the Volvo C40 Recharge electric SUV with a grand fashion show in Mumbai, Volvo Cars India have commenced deliveries of the SUV. The first units of the coupe SUV are going to customers in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The booking amount for the C40 Recharge is Rs. 1.0 lakh while the car costs Rs. 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It has a range of 683km as per the Indian test cycle. This range is more than what you get with many petrol SUVs of similar price range. So, needless to say, range is not something to worry about when buying the C40 Recharge luxury electric SUV.

The Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari has clarified that 6 airbags in cars won’t be made mandatory. The clarification comes after the road transport ministry issued a draft notification to make 6 airbags mandatory in all passenger vehicles starting October 2023. The latest statement comes as a huge relief for carmakers concerned about hiking car prices to offer more airbags.
