Kia India have revealed the new Sonet 2024. Unlike the Seltos, which got the facelift treatment a little late, the Sonet gets its mid-life update at a good time. It first launched in September 2020 and this update suggests that it could have a life cycle of 6.5 years with a generation update coming around March 2027.
2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Engine Transmission Options — 1 Major Change
The new Kia Sonet retains all 5 powertrain options from the current model. These include:
- 1.2L normal petrol with 5-speed manual transmission
- 1.0L turbo petrol with 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission
- 1.0L turbo petrol with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
- 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission
- 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission
In addition, the Sonet 2024 also gets the following powertrain option:
- 1.5L turbo diesel with 6-speed manual transmission

Kia Sonet 2024 Variants — 1 Notable Change
In terms of variants, there’s only one notable change in the 2024 Sonet facelift: the GTX Plus variant does not get the manual or auto-clutch manual transmission. It’ll only come with dual-clutch (turbo petrol) or torque converter automatic (turbo diesel).
Like before, the Kia Sonet facelift will be offered with 3 interior trims – X Line, GT Line and Tech Line. The X Line trim offers sage green leatherette seats and inserts with an all black interior. The GT Line offers black leatherette seats with white inserts and an all black interior. The Tech Line trim is available with 3 colour options, depending on the variant. The lower variants feature semi leatherette seats with an all black interior, the mid variants get a black and beige semi-leatherette seats with dual-tone interior. The higher variants get black and brown leatherette seats with brown inserts and an all-black interior.

As far as exterior colours go, the Sonet 2024 carries over all existing options in addition to a new olive green colour, which we first saw with the Seltos facelift.

2024 Sonet Facelift Features — 1 Major, 2 Minor Updates
The 2024 Sonet facelift retains all the features of the outgoing model. Additionally, it also gets ADAS features and connected tail lamps. In terms of ADAS, it offers the following features:
- Forward Collision Warning
- Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (Car, Pedestrian & Cycle)
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Lane Departure Warning
- Driver Attention Warning
- Lane Following Assist
- Auto High Beam
- Leading Vehicle Departure Alert

New Sonet 2024 Launch Timeline
Kia officials revealed that pre-bookings for the Sonet facelift will begin on December 20, 2023. The price announcement could happen around December 31, 2023, while deliveries could start in the first week of the new year.
