South Korean automaker Hyundai had launched the next gen Verna on August 22 this year in the Indian market. The much awaited compact sedan has been the talk of the town since the automaker planned to introduce it in the market. Within two months of its launch, the fifth generation Hyundai Verna has clocked 20,000 bookings and more than 1.5 lakh inquiries since its launch this year. According to Hyundai, 20 percent sales of the 2017 Hyundai Verna has been gained from the first time buyers only.
According to the reports, over 25 per cent of the customers have opted for automatic transmission over the manual one, while more than 45 per cent of new Verna customers look forward to 21 new age features like front ventilated seats, smart trunk, smart sunroof, the eco coating technology and advanced telematics system.

The newly launched Hyundai Verna comes powered by a pair of 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. While the petrol unit produces 121bhp of power and 151Nm of peak torque, diesel mill puts out 126bhp of maximum power and an impressive peak torque of 260Nm. Both engines can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission options.
In terms of features, the next gen Hyundai Verna offers seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, dual USB charging points, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs and climate control. The automaker has also added Eco Coating for scent control, rear curtains and a hands-free boot opening. The top-of-the-line model gets six airbags and ABS with EBD.
