Mechanically, the 2018 Volvo XC40 will come powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder D4 diesel engine which churns out 190 bhp. The transmission duties in the SUV will be performed by an eight-speed auto transmission offering four-wheel drive as standard. At the rear, the SUV gets sharp and sleek vertically positioned LED taillights and integrated roof spoiler.
To be underpinned by Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) and over the standard features list, the 2018 XC40 R-Design will offer a host of additional features including wireless mobile phone charging, a 750W 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, 19-inch alloys, electronic tailgate, and heated front and rear seats. Other than these, the upcoming SUV will also offer an all-black interior and Volvo's 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The safety features include adaptive cruise control, oncoming lane mitigation, run-off-road mitigation, and blind spot information among others.
