The Hyundai Verna is about to get a mid-life update in India, and it has now been showcased in China. The updated model is expected to be launched in India in 2020.
The updated Hyundai Verna gets endowed with major cosmetic updates to make for a radical new styling, which conforms the earlier sets of spy images. In fact, the styling updates are so extensive that one might take it for a new generation model of the sedan.
The refreshed Verna flaunts a new trapezoidal front grille, large sweptback triple-pod headlights that amalgamate with the grille, redesigned front bumper and silver inserts. At the back, the sedan gets a new tail light design that appears connected via a slim LED strip running across the vehicle’s width.
The interior of the Verna doesn’t get as major an update as its exterior. It gets a new infotainment system, which will be shared with the Venue.
Features that are expected to be a part of the package include ventilated front seats, cruise control, ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, wireless charging, smart trunk and electric sunroof.
In India, expect the updated Verna to feature 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines that do duty on the Kia Seltos. We expect both manual and automatic transmission to be on offer as well.
The ongoing Hyundai Verna is available in India in the price range of Rs. 8.09 lakhs - 14.05 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). The updated Verna model is likely to come at a premium over the current model owing to extensive styling and mechanical updates along with expected feature updates.
The Verna facelift might be showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 in February. The refreshed Verna will continue its fight with the likes of the Honda City, Marut Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and the recently updated Toyota Yaris.
