2022 Hyundai Tucson Spied With ADAS Sensor | V3Cars

The fourth-gen Hyundai Tucson has been spied testing wearing heavy camouflage near Chennai. While most of the SUV is under the wraps, the spilt shots do reveal a crucial detail about the fourth-gen Tucson. If you look closely, you can spot ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) sensors at the front of the SUV. This hints that the India-bound Tucson could get ADAS in its top variants.

The advanced driving assistance system in the Tucson sold in global markets includes features such as lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking, among others. We can expect the India-spec Hyundai Tucson to be equipped with the same features too. This will make Tucson the first Hyundai car in India to get ADAS. The Creta facelift is also expected to come with ADAS later this year.

The Hyundai Tucson is based on Hyundai’s new design language and sports multiple cuts and creases. The front profile of Tucson is unique with integrated LED DRLs. We expect the same front design to carry over to the 2022 Creta Facelift. The rear end of the new Tucson features inverted LED taillights with a connecting LED bar in between.

The new Tucson could also include features like wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera setup, 7 airbags, a full-colour LCD instrument cluster similar to the Alcazar, a premium sound system, and 64-colour ambient lighting.

In terms of powertrains, we expect Hyundai to offer the new Tucson with two engine options — a 2.5L direct-injection petrol engine and a 2.0L turbo diesel. The petrol engine offers 190PS of power and 247Nm of torque. The diesel engine puts out 185PS of power and 400Nm of torque. Hyundai may offer both engines with torque converter automatic transmissions whereas only the Tucson diesel may get the 4WD option.

Hyundai launched the fourth generation Tucson in international markets way back in 2020. In India, however, they are still selling the third generation of the premium SUV. The new Tucson is expected to hit our shores this year. It will take on SUVs like the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan, and the Citroen C5 Aircross. We expect the new Tucson to be priced between Rs. 23 lakh and Rs. 28 lakh.
