Price Comparison - Old WagonR vs 2022 New WagonR Facelift

The new WagonR facelift is available in 4 variants - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI Plus. The top-spec ZXI Plus variant is also available with dual-tone exterior for an additional Rs. 12,000.

The new WagonR 2022 starts at Rs. 5.4 lakh and its prices go up to Rs. 7.1 lakh. The engine options remain the same as before. So, it still comes with a 1.0L normal petrol, a 1.2L normal petrol and a 1.0L normal CNG engine options.

Variant to variant, the new model’s prices are Rs. 21,500 to Rs. 35,500 higher than before. The new WagonR’s starting prices are Rs. 21,500 higher than before while the top variant prices are Rs. 52,000 higher. However, the ZXI 1.2L manual and automatic are Rs. 8,400 cheaper than before. The VXI 1.2L petrol engine is not available as the 1.2L engine starts from ZXI variant

Since there’s no variant overlap between the 1.2L normal and 1.0L normal petrol engines, it’s difficult to accurately comment on what premium Maruti Suzuki are charging for the more powerful engine. Prices of the 2022 WagonR facelift AMT automatic are still Rs. 50,000 higher than the comparable manual variant.

Just like the other Maruti Suzuki CNG models, the WagonR CNG bi-fuel also carries a premium of Rs. 95,000 over the normal petrol variants. With the update, Maruti Suzuki introduced the option of CNG in the VXI variant with the 1.0L engine. Earlier, CNG was only available in the LXI variant.

Engine Specs Comparison - Old vs New WagonR 2022

In terms of engine specs, the WagonR continues with 1.0L normal petrol, 1.2L normal petrol and 1.0L normal CNG engines. The 1.0L petrol and 1.2L petrol engines are also available with a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission.

The 1.0L petrol engine now makes 1PS and 1Nm lower power and torque but delivers 2.56 - 3.4kmpl higher mileage. The efficiency of 25.19kmpl with the WagonR 1.0L automatic is 15.6% higher than before and is a significant leap over the older WagonR model.

The 1.2L petrol engine of the new WagonR 2022 makes 7PS more power and the same torque as the older WagonR model. This engine’s mileage is also 3.04 - 3.91kmpl higher than the older model. These figures are up to 19.05% higher than the older WagonR 1.2L engine.

Since this was a mid-life update, the dimensions of the 2022 Maruti Arena WagonR facelift remain the same as the older WagonR. The ground clearance details of the new WagonR are not available at the moment but we expect it to have the same 165mm clearance as before.

    dear sir I purchase a wagon r CNG 1.0 lt on 13th April. the engine no is K10CN C04258, I would like to know what is series of my wagon r ? is this the latest double jet engine or the old version. as the dealer claims the double jet but in the document, there is no mention of anything that accepts WAGON R LXI CNG 1L 5MT. Kindly tel me truth how will I know that it is double get engine.
