While the spy shots fail to capture the interior of the Atto 2 test mule, we expect the India-spec model to offer the same modern yet minimalistic cabin experience as the international model. The global-spec Atto 2 offers a large 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment unit, which serves as the hub for media and vehicle functions. It includes both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Behind the multifunction steering wheel sits an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.

Other notable interior features include:

  • Leatherette upholstery
  • A crystal-style drive selector
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated and powered front seats
  • Ambient lighting
  • Type-C charging ports

The global version also offers a practical 400 litre boot capacity, which can be expanded to 1,340 liters by folding down the rear seats.

For safety, the international version of the BYD Atto 2 offers a 360-degree surround-view camera system, multiple airbags, and advanced driver assistance features (ADAS).

BYD Atto 2: Powertrain And Range

The BYD Atto 2 is offered with a single electric motor powering the front wheels. This motor is rated to produce around 177PS of power and 290Nm of torque, which is very similar to the MG ZS EV’s output. Powering the Atto 2 is BYD’s proprietary 45.1kWh Blade Cell battery pack, which is known for its safety and energy density.

In terms of range, the standard variant promises a driving range of up to 380km, which is significantly lower than the claimed range of its electric rivals.

BYS Atto 2: Expected Prices

While BYD have not yet officially announced the launch date or pricing for India, the Atto 2 is expected to be positioned competitively. We expect it to cost between Rs. 18 lakh and Rs. 24 lakh (ex-showroom).
