Maruti Suzuki India will soon launch the XL6 facelift in the Indian market. Apart from some cosmetic tweaks, the XL6 facelift is likely to get a new 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Aside from these changes, the XL6 could remain mechanically unchanged.

With the launch of the 2022 Baleno, Maruti Suzuki stated that the tri-arrow LED DRL design will become a Nexa signature across. This could mean that the XL6 facelift could get a new set of LED headlights with tri-boomerang LED DRLs. Other changes are likely to include a redesigned grille, new alloy wheels, and redesigned bumpers.

Maruti Suzuki could also make some changes to the trim pieces on the inside. The 2022 XL6 facelift could include a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This infotainment system supports Suzuki’s Connect Plus with advanced telematic features. The inbuilt E-SIM also opens possibilities for the future availability of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The 2022 XL6 will continue to be powered by a 1.5L normal petrol engine with mild-hybrid support. We expect its power and torque figures to remain unchanged, 105PS and 138Nm respectively. Transmission choices will include the same 5-speed manual as before and a new 6-speed TC automatic transmission. We expect the overall fuel efficiency to go up thanks to the new automatic gearbox which replaces the old 4-speed TC unit.

With the new changes and better transmission, we expect Maruti Suzuki to hike the prices of the new XL6. The 2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 will take on the likes of the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo. Maruti Suzuki could launch the Ertiga facelift in April, which will be followed by the 2022 XL6 facelift. While the Ertiga will be offered via Maruti’s Arena dealerships and also boast CNG options, the XL6 will continue to be a Nexa offering.
