2022 Mahindra Scorpio To Get Captain Seats And Forward-facing Third-row Seats | V3Cars

It’s been well over three years since Mahindra started testing of the next-gen Scorpio. New spy shots of the 2022 Scorpio confirm the option of captain seats for the middle passengers and forward-facing third-row seats. In addition to that, finishing touches like interior upholstery and console controls have taken shape too. We expect Mahindra to reveal the 2022 Scorpio in August.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is likely to offer captain seats with individual armrests for the middle row passengers. In addition to that, the 2022 Scorpio will ditch the side-facing rear seats for forward-facing third-row bench seating. Currently, the Scorpio doesn’t get the option for either the captain seats or the front-facing third-row seats. However, Mahindra used to offer both the seating configurations a couple of years ago in the top-spec variants of the Scorpio.

2022 Scorpio

The 2022 Scorpio will be underpinned by the Gen-2 ladder-on-frame chassis that underpins the Thar. We do not expect the 2022 Scorpio to have any drastic changes in terms of length, width and height. With all three rows up, the Scorpio is likely to lack boot space — as seen in the spy shots. However, we will reserve our judgement till we get to sample the 2022 Scorpio. The new Scorpio will also borrow its powertrain options from the Thar, which will include the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel with both manual and automatic transmission options.

The new spy shots have also revealed the black and brown seat upholstery for the 2022 Scorpio. In addition to that, the new Scorpio will offer new features like a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic headlights, automatic wipers and drive modes.
