2023 BMW M2 Dealership Dispatch Starts Ahead Of Launch | V3Cars

BMW will soon launch the new 2023 M2 in the Indian market. 2 units of the new BMW M2 have reached a dealership already, as evidenced by these spy shots. The BMW M2 will mark the return of BMWs equipped with a manual transmission. When launched, it will become the only sports car in India to offer a manual gearbox.

2023 BMW M2 — Exterior Design

The new M2 makes use of the 2 Series’ design and dials it up to eleven. Up front, it gets a regular-sized kidney grille flanked by LED headlights. The lower part of the bumper houses large air intakes to cool the engine and air ducts to cool the brakes. The side profile of the M2 is rather flat, with protruding rear haunches. At the rear, the M2 gets a sporty bumper with vertically-stacked reflectores and quad exhaust tips.

2023 BMW M2 — Interiors

On the inside, the new M2 comes with an all-black dashboard and sports seats. The dashboard houses a 12.3-inch driver’s display and a 14.9-inch control display concealed in 1 curved glass. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display, 3-zone climate control and M steering wheel with customisable buttons. 

2023 BMW M2 — Engine And Performance

The new M2 comes with the updated 3.0L inline-6 turbo petrol engine. It produces 460PS of power and 550Nm of torque. The power output of the new M2 is 90PS more than the base-spec of the outgoing M2. The engine channels power to the rear wheels and buyers also get the option of either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The new M2 does 0-100kmph in 4.1 seconds and 0-200kmph in 13.5 seconds. The India-spec BMW M2 will offer the option of both 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission options.

2023 BMW M2 — Launch And Rivals

BMW are likely to launch the new M2 in May 2023 and we expect deliveries to start soon after the launch. The new BMW M2 goes up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG and Audi RS3. In BMW’s Indian portfolio, the BMW M2 will sit below the BMW M4 Competition, which is priced at Rs. 1.43 crore (ex-showroom).
