Hyundai India recently revealed the dimensions of the 2023 Verna sedan. Hyundai claim that the 2023 Verna will offer class-leading wheelbase and interior space. In this article, we compare the dimensions of the 2023 Hyundai Verna with its arch rival — the Honda City, which recently received a mid-life facelift.

Take a look at the dimensions comparison of the new Verna and City sedans:
The 2023 Hyundai Verna offers a segment-longest wheelbase of 2670mm, which is 70mm more than the old Verna and 2023 City. It also offers 1765mm width, which is class-leading and 17mm more than the City. The Honda City, on the other hand, offers 48mm more length and 14mm more height over the 2023 Verna. In terms of luggage carrying capacity, the new Verna will haul 22L of extra luggage over the City sedan.

While the new Verna is shorter by 14mm in length compared to the City, it offers 70mm of extra wheelbase. Hence, the new Verna should offer better knee room for the 2nd-row passengers. Furthermore, thanks to its class-leading width, it should also offer good shoulder room for 1st- and 2nd-row passengers. However, we will hold our judgement till we get to drive both the Verna and City sedans.

It is surprising to know that no C-segment sedan currently offers a diesel engine option. While the City has opted for a strong hybrid powertrain option to deliver fuel efficiency, the new Verna gets a 160PS 1.5L turbo petrol engine to cater to the enthusiasts. Since the Verna and City were the only remaining sedans to offer a diesel engine, buyers do not have the diesel engine option anymore.
