Honda launched the 5th-gen City in India in 2020 and introduced the strong hybrid powertrain option in 2022. With the facelift, we expect Honda to offer a couple of cosmetic updates to differentiate it from the current City. These cosmetic updates could include a revised front grille, tweaked LED headlights and tail lights and revised bumper design. The top-spec variant could also get the RS-inspired body kit, which is currently only available with the City strong hybrid.
On the inside, the new City could offer a revised dashboard design with new colour for the upholstery and soft touchpoints. In terms of features, the current Honda city offers an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, lane watch camera, keyless entry with push-button start/stop and rear window curtain.

The 2023 Honda City facelift is likely to come with a choice of 2 engine options — 1.5L normal petrol and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol. Honda have already discontinued the 1.5L turbo diesel engine from the existing City lineup and the diesel engine is unlikely to make a comeback with the facelift. While the 1.5L normal petrol engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT, the strong hybrid powertrain comes only with an e-CVT transmission.
Take a look at the powertrain specifications of the current City:
Currently, the Honda City hybrid comes in a single ZX variant, which comes loaded with all the bells and whistles. However, to make the City hybrid more accessible to the masses, Honda are likely to offer the strong hybrid powertrain in the lower variants of the City as well.
