2023 Tata Nexon Facelift With New Steering Wheel

The new spy shots of the Nexon facelift reveal a new steering wheel that looks similar to the one seen in the Curvv concept. It gets a flat horn pad flanked by new steering-mounted controls. The Curvv concept’s steering wheel feature an illuminated Tata logo at the centre of the steering wheel. Whether this feature makes it to the Nexon facelift remains to be seen.

Furthermore, the new Nexon facelift will also offer paddle shifters as seen in the spy shots. The current Nexon automatic, which is equipped with an automated manual transmission (AMT) doesn’t, come with paddle shifters. Hence, we can safely assume that Tata will offer the new Nexon facelift with the dual dual-clutch automatic transmission from the Altroz hatchback with the addition of paddle shifters. The interior image also reveals a new gear lever for the B2-segment SUV, which also offers the park ‘P’ mode.

2023 Tata Nexon Facelift Powertrain Details

The new Nexon facelift could offer the updated 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which Tata showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. According to Tata Motors, the new 1.2L turbo petrol engine produces 125PS of power and 190Nm of torque. The top variants of the Nexon could also offer a higher 225Nm torque output with the new petrol engine. Currently, the Tata Nexon comes with a choice of 2 engine options — 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel. Both engines come with the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. SInce the 1.5L turbo diesel engine of the Nexon already complies with the BS6 phase-2 emission norms, we expect Tata to offer a diesel option with the Nexon facelift as well.

Tata Nexon Facelift Launch Details And Rivals

Since the Nexon is currently one of the oldest SUVs in the B2-segment space, Tata Motors could launch the Nexon facelift around August this year. The new Nexon could be Tata’s offering for the upcoming festive season. It will rival the recently updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue facelift. Its other segment rivals include the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
