Tata Motors recently updated the Nexon with BS6-2 compliant engines. Both the 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines of the Nexon now comply with upcoming BS6 phase-2 and road driving emission standards.

Tata Motors have retuned the engine options of the Nexon to offer better performance, refinement and efficiency. The 1.5L turbo diesel engine now offers better low-end performance while also delivering better fuel efficiency. Furthermore, the 1.2L turbo petrol engine is also said to offer better responsiveness and reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels.

The petrol engine complies with road driving emission standards and is also E20-fuel ready. Despite these changes, it continues to produce 120PS of power at 5500rpm and 170Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 4000rpm. The diesel engine also continues to produce 110PS of power at 4000rpm and 260Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 2750rpm. Both engine options continue to come with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automated manual transmission.
Tata Motors recently announced a longer standard warranty for their entire range of cars and SUVs. The Nexon is now offered with a 3 year/1 lakh km warranty compared to the earlier 2 year/75,000km standard warranty.

A set of spy shots of the new Nexon recently surfaced online. Earlier, we expected Tata Motors to update the Nexon with a facelift along with new engine options. However, since the engines have been updated with the same model, we expect Tata Motors to soon launch a Nexon facelift with design and feature improvements.
