2023 Toyota Innova Hycross Officially Teased | V3Cars

Toyota have dropped the first teaser image of the upcoming Innova Hycross on their Indonesian website. The teaser gives a sneak peek to the new Innova Hycross front profile ahead of the MPVs debut in November.

2023 Toyota Innova Hycross

The Toyota Innova is one of the most popular family movers in the country and it’s also the go-to choice for cab aggregators. The latter has somewhat damaged the image of the Innova and while Toyota launched the Innova Crysta to make things better, the upcoming Innova Hycross is expected to target a different set of customers. Rumours also suggest that Toyota may continue to offer the current Innova Crysta alongside the new Innova Hycross.

In terms of design, the new teaser image shows the mesh grille of the Innova Hycross that takes inspiration from Toyota’s global lineup. The grille also boasts a black Toyota logo and a front parking camera. The headlights look sleek and get a kink in the middle – giving it an aggressive design. The bumper seems to have some sharp design elements and could incorporate fog lamps.

In terms of powertrain, the new Innova Hycross could use a petrol-hybrid setup. We do not expect the Innova Hycross to be offered with any diesel engines. While details about the hybrid powertrain of the Innova Hycross are scarce, it may use a 2.0L hybrid powertrain and offer more power and torque than the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

It is worth noting that Toyota have stopped accepting orders for the Innova Crysta diesel owing to high demand. It will be interesting to see if Toyota are successful in shifting potential buyers of the Innova Crysta diesel to the advanced hybrid powertrain of the new Innova Hycross. The new Innova Hycross will rival other SUVs and MPVs in the class, such as the Kia Carens, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.
