2026 Kia Seltos Now Bigger Than Before

According to Kia, the second-generation Seltos focuses on increased size, stronger road presence, improved safety, enhanced ride comfort and a significantly more digital cabin experience.

In terms of dimensions, the new Seltos is now the longest SUV in its segment. It now measures 4460mm in length, 1830mm in width, 1635mm in height, while the wheelbase has been extended to 2690mm. This growth should result in better cabin space, especially for rear-seat passengers and improved stability at highway speeds.

Design-wise, the new Seltos adopts Kia’s latest Opposites United design philosophy. The front end gets the new Digital Tiger Face, flanked by Ice Cube LED projector headlamps with a dynamic welcome function. Other highlights include flush door handles and new alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new Seltos offers a 30-inch Trininity Panoramic display. This wide layout integrates the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system into a single, seamless visual unit, similar to what we are now seeing in newer premium SUVs. The cabin also gets a Bose 8-speaker audio system and a host of connected car features. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0, over-the-air software updates and Kia Connect Diagnosis aim to improve everyday convenience and long-term ownership experience. Kia has also introduced a first-in-segment Smart Key Proximity Unlock function, allowing hands-free access when approaching the vehicle.

2026 Kia Seltos Platform And Powertrain Details

Under the skin, the all-new Seltos shifts to Kia’s India-first global K3 platform. This new architecture is said to offer higher structural rigidity, improved suspension tuning and reduced noise and vibration levels. For Indian buyers, this should translate into a more comfortable ride on broken roads, better body control on highways and an overall more refined driving experience compared to the outgoing model.

Kia have also confirmed that the new Seltos will come with a 24 standard safety feature pack across variants. In addition, it will offer Level 2 ADAS with 21 autonomous functions, significantly strengthening its safety credentials in a highly competitive segment where active safety is becoming a key differentiator.

Powertrain options remain familiar. The new Seltos is offered with a 1.5-litre normal petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Buyers will have access to a wide range of transmission options including manual, iMT, IVT, DCT and automatic gearboxes, allowing Kia to cater to both city-focused users and highway-oriented buyers.
