Scoop: New-Gen Kia Seltos 2026 To Offer Box-ier Styling & Larger Dimensions | V3Cars

We have recently learned that the next-generation Kia Seltos will go on sale sometime in 2026; possibly around mid of next year. The new Seltos will also grow in dimension. However, we haven’t been able to ascertain the magnitude of the growth in Seltos 2026 dimensions. We have also managed to confirm that the new Seltos will have a more boxy side profile & styling to convey its SUV-ness and offer a stronger stance.

Scoop: 2026 Kia Seltos To Get Boxier Styling & Larger Dimensions

We can also say with a fair amount of confidence that the new Seltos will retain a traditional front grille design element and not the kind of body-coloured slab such as the Clavis and Syros. These slabs on the car’s face do ease us into the transition to electric cars.

On the powertrain front, we don’t have anything to report. Using some common sense, we can confidently say that the Seltos will retain the current 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. We believe Kia may be keeping a hybrid powertrain on the cards but we can’t confirm this from a reliable source.

The Seltos first went on sale in 2019 and it used a new platform, which found its way into the new-generation Creta, which went on sale early in 2020. The Seltos is a consistent performer in Kia’s portfolio unlike the recently launched and overpriced cars like the Carnival, EV6, EV9 and the Syros. In fact, if Kia discontinued the older Carens, the new Clavis would also have a tough time holding on to its market share as it comes across as quite expensive.

While the Syros was a completely new badge, the price anchoring for Carens was done way back in early 2022, when Kia launched it at a starting price of Rs. 8.99 lakh. So, a tag of almost Rs. 21.50 ex-showroom comes across as difficult to digest. Even the Clavis EV’s top variant pricing stretches up to ~Rs. 24.50 lakh, which is Rs. 1.0 lakh more than that of the Creta Electric. The Creta badge has a stronger brand recall and market penetration along with the in-demand SUV body style. Meanwhile, the Clavis has an MPV styling and still commands a heavy premium over the Creta Electric. If the Creta EV is having a tough time creating some buzz and demand, rest assured that the Clavis EV will also remain a niche product attaining only small volumes — as high as 3-figure monthly dispatches.

We seriously hope that Kia, for their own sake, price the 2026 Seltos reasonably. Our market is going through a slowdown and an inflated price tag holds the potential to kill the car on arrival in these tough times.
