The petrol variants of the Kia Syros 2025 are available with 2 powertrain options:
The 1.0L turbo petrol-manual powertrain is available only in the lower 4 variants with prices starting from Rs. 9.0 lakh and going up to Rs. 13.30 lakh. The turbo petrol-DCT powertrain is available in 4 variants and it costs between Rs. 12.80 lakh and Rs. 16.80 lakh. There are only two variants which are offering both the transmissions — HTK Plus and HTX. The price gap between the two transmission options is Rs. 1.30 lakh.
The HTK base model of the Syros petrol only gets the 1.0L turbo petrol engine with a manual transmission. It carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 9.0 lakh. It offers the following standard features:
The base variant seems to have several must-have features but you may miss the following notable features:
Even the base model of the Syros gets a decent number of features considering its expected price of Rs. 9.0 lakh (ex-showroom). What hurts here is that you can get an aftermarket parcel tray but you can’t get features like split rear seats or height-adjustable driver seat. These are pretty essential for some buyers. Still, it comes across as a value for money option if you can manage the ownership without the specified features. It’s a solid option for buyers on a tight budget.
The HTK (O) variant of the Syros also gets the same powertrain option like the base HTK variant and it is Rs. 1.0 lakh more costlier than the base trim.
In addition to all the features of the base variant, the Syros HTK (O) adds the following features to the mix:
This variant misses out on the following features:
The HTK (O) variant doesn’t seem to offer enough must-have features to warrant an upgrade. Even with the sunroof, which has a high perceived value, it doesn’t justify the incremental price gap over the base model. We’ll advise you to skip this one and either choose the base model or stretch your budget for a higher trim.
In addition to the petrol-manual powertrain, the HTK Plus variant of the Syros also gets the DCT automatic option. The HTK Plus manual costs Rs. 11.50 lakh whereas the automatic transmission option will cost you Rs. 12.80 lakh. The HTK Plus variant is Rs. 1.50 lakh more costlier than the lower variant with the manual transmission.
This variant adds some good-to-have and some must-have features like:
You may miss the following features in the HTK Plus variant:
While this variant also doesn’t get a few must-have features we expect from a car at Rs. 12.0 - 13.0 lakh (ex-showroom) price range, it manages to strike a far better balance in terms of must-have and good-to-have features as well as value for money. For the additional features over the base variant and the incremental price gap, it justifies about 86% of the price gap with the manual transmission. With the automatic, though, it manages to completely justify the incremental price over the base model.
The HTK Plus variant of the Syros is our top recommendation for all Syros buyers. Here, you get a good balance of features and value for money. We’ll strongly advise Syros petrol-manual buyers to consider upgrading to the automatic for better value for money.
The HTX variant also gets the same powertrain option as the lower HTK Plus variant. The HTX turbo petrol-manual costs Rs. 13.30 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs. 1.80 lakh more than the HTK Plus. With the automatic transmission option, it cost Rs. 14.60 lakh which is also Rs. 1.80 lakh more expensive than the lower HTK Plus trim.
It adds the following notable features over the HTK Plus trim:
You may miss the following features in the HTX variant:
The HTX variant seems to get most of the must-have features for its asking price but, because of the lower variant being a bit loaded, this one doesn’t come even close to earning our buying recommendation. We’ll suggest that Syros automatic buyers skip this variant and consider the HTX Plus. For Syros manual buyers also, it’s better to skip this and buy a lower variant; preferably with the automatic transmission.
HTX Plus variant onwards, the Syros only offers the dual-clutch automatic transmission option and it costs Rs. 16.0 lakh which is Rs. 1.40 lakh more expensive than the lower trim.
In the HTX Plus variant of the Kia Syros, you will get the following additional features:
Even in this variant, you may miss features like:
The HTX Plus variant comes across as a decent option for Syros automatic buyers, especially if you strictly want to stay away from ADAS features. However, if you prefer to buy a more future-proof vehicle and get a little better value for money, then the Syros top model, HTX Plus (O), is also worth a look for petrol-automatic buyers.
The top variant HTX Plus (O) of the Syros also gets the same powertrain option as the lower HTX Plus trim and it costs Rs. 80,000 more than the HTX Plus variant.
The Syros HTX Plus (O) offers the following notable features over the HTX Plus variant:
The top model of the Syros petrol variants delivers about 90% of value over the base model with the additional features. It’s only a shade better than the HTX Plus and if you want to better future-proof your car, then this is the variant to consider.
The recommendation for Syros petrol buyers is straightforward. For budget-conscious buyers, the base HTK variant is a fantastic option even though it misses out on a few critical features. HTK (O) and HTX are worth skipping for offering poor value for money.
The mid-spec HTK Plus is our top recommendation and we strongly advise you to consider buying it with the automatic transmission for even better value for money. HTX Plus and HTX Plus (O) are also worth considering for the unique upmarket features but they aren’t appealing enough to warrant an upgrade for most buyers.
Among the B2-segment SUVs with a turbo petrol engine, the Syros’s engine offers equivalent power and torque output figures just like other cars in the segment. The Syros also offers the option of a manual and an automatic transmission. The Syros’s automatic is a 7-speed DCT unit. Kia are yet to reveal the mileage figures of the Syros petrol.
This is the first time Kia are offering the 1.0L turbo petrol engine with a full-manual transmission. The Sonet, since its launch in late 2020, has continued to offer the turbo petrol with the auto-clutch manual transmission.
Compared to 1.2L turbo petrol engines, the Kia Syros offers adequate power figures but comes short at torque output figures.
Among the B2-segment SUVs with normal petrol engines, only the Brezza comes close to the power output figures of the Syros.

In terms of dimensions, the 2025 Syros has the best boot space but that’s with the rear seats in the foremost position. In the rear-most position, the Syros boot space is 325 litres. For variants without the slide and recline function, the cargo volume is 390 litres. This figure too is better than all other cars in the segment. In terms of height, the Syros has the longest height after the Brezza. However, the 3XO has a wider body than the Syros. In this segment, the Nexon holds the crown for having the best ground clearance.
