5 Unique Features Of Altroz Racer Not Available In Normal Tata Altroz | V3Cars
In this article, we’ll list down the 5 unique features of the Tata Altroz Racer, which aren’t available in the regular Altroz hatchback. Let’s start with the number 1 item, which was earlier available in the Altroz — leather seats.
1. Leather Upholstery
The top-spec XZ Plus OS variant of the Tata Altroz earlier had the leather upholstery. But after the launch of the Racer, Tata have updated the feature list and made this feature exclusive to the Racer.
2. Ventilated seats
In a way, they did the regular Altroz a favour. Fabric seats are much more breathable than leather. Moreover, leather seats without fans for ventilation make little sense in the hot and humid Indian climatic conditions. So, the Altroz Racer gets leather upholstery with ventilation but it’s only available in the top R3 variant.

3. Racer-Specific Style Features
In terms of style, the Altroz Racer gets the dual-tone as standard with black hood. The racing stripes are also standard with all 3 Racer variants. The Racer also gets racing stripes on the upholstery with orange contrast stitching on the leather steering wheel.
In terms of exterior colour, the orange remains exclusively available with the Racer while the regular Altroz gets white, black, blue, red and grey colour options. The orange colour also spills into the cabin in the form of orange ambient lighting and orange dashboard accents.
4. Turbo Petrol Engine
With the June 2024 update, Tata have removed the turbo petrol option called the iTurbo from the regular Altroz. Now, the only way to get the Altroz with the turbo petrol engine is to buy one of the Racer variants. By the way, the older turbo petrol engine made less power and torque. So, the Racer is an upgrade over the Altroz iTurbo.
5. 6-speed Transmission
The Altroz Racer is the only version of the Altroz to offer a 6-speed manual transmission. With the normal petrol, CNG bi-fuel and diesel, the old turbo petrol engine, the Altroz only gets a 5-speed manual transmission. Even the Altroz turbo, which had the iTurbo badge got a 5-speed transmission. So, the Racer should have an easier time cruising on the highways.
