Maruti Suzuki recently unveiled the Grand Vitara. Set to go on sale soon, the Grand Vitara will become the first strong hybrid SUV in the C-Segment. The MG Astor, on the other hand, is the latest offering from the Chinese-owned British carmaker.

We put the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara up against the MG Astor to tell you 7 features that are missing in the Grand Vitara but present in the Astor.
1. ADAS
The MG Astor is the only SUV in its segment to offer advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It features Level-2 ADAS, which offers functions like blind spot detection, lane keeping assist, auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and rear collision avoidance.

2. Turbo Petrol Engine
The MG Astor comes with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine. It produces 140PS of power and 220Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Grand Vitara, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine mated to a single-speed transmission and a 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol engine with a choice of manual and automatic transmission.
3. 10.1-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System
The MG Astor comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system over the 9.0-inch system found in the Grand Vitara. Both infotainment systems offer wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition to that, the Astor further offers third-party app support, such as Park+ and Jio Saavn.
4. 6-Way Power-Adjustable Driver’s Seat
MG offer the Astor with a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. While it’s not as good as the Hyundai Creta’s 8-way adjustable seat, it is more than what you get with a Grand Vitara – an old-school manual adjustment for the driver seat.
5. Rain-Sensing Wipers
The MG Astor also gets rain sensing wipers along with automatic headlamps. The Grand Vitara, on the other hand, only gets automatic headlights. It is worth noting that the Grand Vitara comes with a split LED headlight layout whereas the Astor gets a conventional single-cluster unit.
6. Steering Modes
The Astor comes with steering modes and users can choose from Normal, Urban and Dynamic modes. Meanwhile the Grand Vitara offers drive modes for the engine, which the Astor lacks.
