The E6 is an electric 5-seater MPV. A 71.7kWh battery powers the E6 that produces 95PS of power and 180Nm of torque. These are not exciting numbers considering how heavy the E6 is. But BYD have optimised the E6 for maximum efficiency, which it does provide. The E6 delivers a claimed range of 520km, the highest for an EV in India as of now. The E6 can regenerate energy from as low as 2kmph to help increase the range. A fast DC charger can charge the E6 from 30% to 80% within a claimed time of 35 minutes. As it does not have a third row of seats, the boot capacity stands at 520 litres with all the seats up.

In terms of features, the E6 comes with 4 airbags, a rearview camera, a 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, air purifier, leather upholstery, LED lights with DRLs and 17-inch alloy wheels. BYD provide a warranty of 3 years or 1,25,000km on the car, 8 years or 5,00,000km on the battery and 8 years or 1,50,000km (whichever is earlier) on the motor.

The E6 costs Rs. 29.15 lakh exclusive of the charger. You will have to pay Rs. 45,000 extra for a 7kW charger. BYD sells it only to B2B customers for now. This means that unless you intend to use it for business purposes, you cannot buy the E6. We expect BYD to offer the E6 to private buyers in the near future too.
