In this December 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all A-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all A-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
A-Segment Hatchback December 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among mass volume cars from the A-segment hatchback category, the Renault Kwid was the only gainer, with a 73% YoY growth in December
- The Celerio saw the biggest YoY change in December 2022, with a decline of 81% in December 2022 over December 2021
- Maruti’s S-Presso also saw a 78% decline in dispatch figures over that of December 2021

A-Segment Hatchback December 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change
- Renault Kwid was also the only MoM gainer in the A-segment in December 2022, with an increase of 22% over November
- The S-Presso was the top-loser in December MoM comparison analysis with 56.84% fall in dispatches
- The S-Presso was followed by the Celerio with 56.10% decline and Alto twins with 45% fall in numbers
- A-segment hatchbacks saw an overall drop in sales in December 2022.
