We have exclusive information about the reveal and bookings details of the Tata Punch. According to our source, dealers of Tata Motors passenger cars have received notification that more details about the Punch will be publicly released on September 12, 2021. Bookings are also likely to commence on the same day, just like Tata Motors did with the Tiago EV, where the first batch of information reveal and bookings coincided on the same day.

Feature List To Be Similar To Altroz

The source also confirmed to us that the features would remain consistent with the Altroz. We anticipated this part as the Punch shares the platform with the Altroz. Moreover, the Tata Punch aims to compete in the affordable side of the sub-4m SUV space. In this price band, the feature set of the top-spec Altroz is similar to that of the other affordable SUVs like the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.

Starting Price Around Rs. 5.5 Lakh

We were informed that the car would have a starting price of around Rs. 5.5 lakh. We would have loved to see it start at Rs. 5.0 lakh, at least for the early adopters, but it’s an unrealistic expectation considering that the Altroz starts at almost Rs. 6.0 lakh. So, even if the Punch launches at Rs. 5.5 lakh, you should expect the base variant price to touch Rs. 6.0 lakh within the 6-12 months of launch.

For the top variant, we can expect the Tata Punch to go up to Rs. 8.5 - 9.0 lakh depending on whether the Punch gets the turbo petrol engine or not. Its direct rivals like the Magnite and Kiger also get a turbo petrol engine, so there are good chances that the Punch could also get the turbo petrol engine option.

Other Details

After showcasing the prototype of the HBX or Hornbill at the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors revealed the official name and images of the production-spec version of the Punch SUV. This car.
