#FirstSpot: Tata Tiago, NRG Get Cruise Control In XZO Plus, XZ Plus Variants | V3Cars

Along with the launch of the Tiago CNG-automatic powertrain, Tata also introduced the new XZO Plus variant. This is a more affordable version of the XZ Plus top model. This new XZO Plus and the top variant of the Tiago now also get cruise control feature. So far, among Tiago’s rivals, the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios already offer this feature while the Ignis doesn't.

It’s worth noting that the cruise control feature is only available with the petrol engine. The Swift and Nios also offer cruise control only with their petrol engines. Considering the limited driving range and usual city-specific usage of the CNG cars, the Tiago, Swift and Grand i10 Nios don’t offer cruise control with their CNG bi-fuel options.

Tata Tiago XZO Plus Vs XZ Plus Top Model - Feature Difference

Given that it’s a Tata car, the feature differences between the XZO Plus and XZ Plus are difficult to decipher from their website and brochure. But, if we have to use our judgement, then it looks like the XZO Plus is pretty much the same as the XZ Plus but without the alloy wheels. Instead, it gets 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers.

Should You Buy Tata Tiago XZO Plus?

With our feature difference assumption, if you want to know if the XZO Plus is worth buying, then here’s our recommendation: the price jump from XT to XZO Plus is only Rs. 60,000 and the XZ Plus is another Rs. 30,000.

First of all, the XZO Plus more than justifies the price gap over the XT and according to our algorithm, it adds about Rs. 90,000 worth of perceived value over the XT. So, if you were considering the XT variant earlier, then we strongly recommend buying the XZO Plus instead. If you absolutely want the fancy new alloy wheels, only then it makes sense to buy the XZ Plus.

Please note that buying the XZ Plus variant will mean that there’s also a cascading effect of taxes. You’ll end up paying higher road and registration taxes as these are calculated based on the ex-showroom prices. Even if you want to stick with manufacturer options in terms of alloy wheels, it’s still better to buy it from the dealer as an accessory instead of choosing the XZ Plus top model of the Tiago.

Those who want a high ground clearance can consider the XZ NRG variant of the Tiago petrol. With the NRG also, the price gap between XT and XZ is Rs. 60,000. Thus, the addition of a high-value feature like cruise control makes the jump to XZ NRG also easy to recommend.
