After a lot of speculation and rumours, Toyota have finally teased their version of the Maruti Fronx-based SUV. The silhouette confirms that the new SUV is not only likely to share the powertrain and platform with the Fronx but also most of the body panels. The carmaker had earlier confirmed to the media that they are planning to reveal a new vehicle on April 3, 2024. We are expecting Toyota to call this new vehicle Urban Cruiser Taisor.

For the Indian market, Toyota have so far used 2 naming conventions for their SUV - Urban Cruiser and Land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser series of vehicles like the Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser 300, is more off-road friendly. Meanwhile, their crossover series, which is more road-friendly, follows the Urban Cruiser name. Examples of this range are the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the Brezza-based Urban Cruiser. This time around, we’re expecting Toyota to call the Fronx-based SUV Urban Cruiser Taisor.

For now, the Toyota Taisor’s details are still not official. However, just one look at the differences between the Ertiga-Rumion, Baleno-Glanza, Vitara Brezza-Urban Cruiser and Grand Vitara-Hyryder is enough to tell you that the Taisor will even get the same features as the Fronx.
