Hyundai Alcazar 2.0L Normal Petrol Discontinued
Hyundai have removed the 2.0L normal petrol engine from the Alcazar model page and the engine option is no longer present in the Alcazar brochure. The older 2.0L normal petrol engine is now replaced by a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine, which will also power the upcoming 2023 Hyundai Verna. The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine of the Alcazar produces equivalent power but substantially higher torque over the 2.0L normal petrol engine.

The 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 1PS extra power and 62Nm extra torque over the respective outputs of the 2.0L normal petrol engine. It is worth mentioning that the turbo petrol engine offers a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission whereas the 2.0L normal petrol engine offered a torque converter automatic transmission. While a torque converter automatic transmission generally offers poor efficiency in traffic conditions, they are more reliable over the long run than a dual-clutch transmission, which is known for excessive heating in heavy traffic conditions.
