Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has silently offered a minor update its most selling SUV, the Creta in the country. The SUV has been updated with a new exterior color- ‘Earth Brown’ with dual tone options. Also, the South Korean automaker has discontinued dual tone color options - Pearl Beige and dual-tone Red Passion with Phantom black from the SUV.
Apart from this, the automaker has also updated the SX plus dual tone variant of the Creta with some minor cosmetic changes on the inside, such as Luxure brown interior package which includes beige color seat fabric and leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrast stitching and brown accents on the gear knob. However, this is not the first time that Hyundai has updated the Creta SUV in the country. Earlier, in the month of April this year, Hyundai introduced Creta with minor changes to the exterior such as new dual-tone body color and a new infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
All the updates till date have been offered on the exterior and interior of the SUV only, while the powertrain remain untouched with the same 1.6-litre petrol and 1.4-litre, 1.6-litre diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai India had launched Creta in 2015 at a price range of Rs 9.43 lakh for the base petrol version and goes up to Rs 14.62 lakh for the top variant with automatic transmission. The SUV has successfully crossed 1.5 lakh sales units in the domestic market in February 2017. The automaker achieved new heights by selling 9,292 units of Creta in September 2017 and 54,032 units during the period from April 2017 to September 2017.
Two new competitors of the Hyundai Creta- the Renault Captur and 2017 Ford EcoSport are all set to be launched on 6th and 9th November respectively. With these launches, the crossover segment is going to offer more options to the buyers and will keep the automakers on their toes to prove themselves better than the competitors.
