Hyundai have revealed details of the India-spec Ioniq 5 electric crossover ahead of its launch at the 2023 Auto Expo. Hyundai will commence bookings for the Ioniq 5 on December 20. In this article, we share our price estimate for the upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Take a look at the expected prices of the Ioniq 5 electric crossover:
We expect Hyundai to locally assemble the Ioniq 5 in India whereas its cousin, the EV6 comes via the CBU route. The Kia EV6 shares its platform, equipment and battery pack with the Ioniq 5 and it costs Rs. 59.95 lakh for the 2WD and Rs. 64.95 lakh for the 4WD variant. We expect the Ioniq 5 to undercut the EV6 with a starting price of Rs. 45 lakh whereas the 4WD could cost Rs. 50 lakh ex-showroom. The Ioniq 5’s prices will officially be revealed at the 2023 Auto Expo.

The Ioniq 5 measures 4635mm in length, which is 60mm shorter than the EV6. However, the Ioniq 5 is taller by 35mm and gets a 100mm longer wheelbase over the EV6. It’s worth mentioning that the dimensions of the India-spec Ioniq 5 could vary by a couple of millimeters.
Take a look at the powertrain details of the Ioniq 5:
We expect Hyundai to offer the Ioniq 5 with the larger 77.4kWh battery pack. Globally, the Ioniq 5 also offers a smaller 58kWh battery pack with both 2WD and 4WD options. Like the EV6, the India-bound Ioniq 5 could come with both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options.
