Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India recently announced its plan for the 2018-19 financial year and has promised to launch at least ten new products during the FY 2018-19. The products will include both product launches, as well as model updates for the existing product lineup for the automaker in the country. Apart from this, JLR also revealed the sales report for the previous fiscal year during which the Jaguar Land Rover India saw a growth of over 83 per cent in India. With its aggressive product plan for FY 2018-19, JLR is hoping to sustain the strong growth momentum the company has achieved during the previous fiscal year. JLR India completed 2017-18 with a total sales of 4,609 units against 2,514 units in the previous fiscal.

Speaking at the occasion, Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL) said, “The customers gave us a huge thumbs up for some of the new products launched such as the fifth-generation All-New Land Rover Discovery and the New Range Rover Velar. Other name plates such as Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE as well as Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque continued their winning streak with their popularity index rising exponentially with the customers.”

However, the automaker didn’t reveal the names of any of its upcoming products expected to be launched during the 2018-19 financial year but we can definitely expect the automaker to update the existing product lineup in the country. The expected list includes both the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover that are due for a facelift this year, while Land Rover might also launch the Discovery SVX in India.

Other than these, JLR is expected to launch at least four models from its SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) division. The SVAutobiography is RR's luxurious long-wheelbase SUV that was unveiled at the LA Motor show last year. Built on Range Rover’s longer 3,120mm wheelbase to provide rear passengers with more legroom about 1,200mm and seats that can recline by 40 degrees, globally the vehicle offer three powertrain options- a 339hp, 4.4-litre SDV8 diesel, a 404hp, 2.0-litre petrol-electric and a 565hp, supercharged 5.0-litre V8 like the SVR.

The next car in question is the Jaguar F-Pace SVR that was recently showcased at the New York Auto Show 2018 is also likely to make its way to the Indian market. It is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 borrowed from the Project 7, making 575hp and 700Nm of pulling power. The model is equipped with an eight-speed auto gearbox, a four-wheel-drive system and gets high usage of carbon fibre in its body.

Moving ahead, the third vehicle will be the recently updated Range Rover Sport SVR that comes with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 and now produces 575hp and 700Nm of torque showing improvements of 24hp and 19Nm, respectively.

The fourth SVR model is likely to be the new Range Rover SV Coupe that made its public debut at the 2018 Geneva motor show and is Land Rover's most expensive model positioned at the top of the range. Taking against the likes of the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga, the model is powered by a 575hp, 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol and is limited to just 999 units.

Though, the automaker might plan to bring the plug-in hybrid models in the country too but looking at the increased tax rates on the hybrid models in the country, it seems a bit difficult to comment on the same right now.

Talking about the current product lineup by Jaguar and Land Rover in the country, the British luxury automaker sells a total to eleven vehicles together in the country. These includes the XE, XF, F-Pace, XJ and the F-Type by Jaguar, and the Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, the new-gen Discovery, the Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover, by Land Rover. Also, last month JLR launched its first convertible SUV for India in the form of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Stay tuned to for further updates on the upcoming cars by Jaguar Land Rover in the country.
