In this January 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment SUVs in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
B2-Segment SUV January 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Among B2-segment SUVs, the Brezza is catching up with the Nexon in terms of monthly sales, but Nexon is still the top selling car in the segment
- Mahindra Bolero is the top gaining car in the segment with 144.5% YoY increment in the month of January
- On the contrary, Kiger and WR-V both became the top losers with a 62% YoY decline in dispatches in January 2023
- Maruti Brezza was the second biggest gainer in January 2023 YoY comparison, with a growth of 50% compared to January 2022
- Citroen C3 was not on sale last year in India and hence its YoY analysis is not possible

B2-Segment SUV January 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- The Nexon was the only B2-segment SUV with 5-figure monthly sales till the month of October. Currently, Nexon, Brezza and Venue are the three cars in the segment with 5-figure sales
- Kia Sonet was the top gainer in the category with 60.5% MoM increment in the monthly dispatches in January 2023.
- Most other cars in the category saw a growth in dispatches.
- Honda WR-V was the top loser with 49% MoM decline in sales It was followed by Renault Kiger, with 45% decline in dispatches and Citroen C3 with 14% decline in dispatches in the month of January.
