We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. A-Segment Hatchback July 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Amongst the mass volume cars from the A-segment hatchback category, Maruti’s S-Presso was the biggest gainer with 65.27% YoY gain in July
- Hyundai’s Santro is the biggest YoY loser in the month of July losing almost 100% sales
- The Celerio saw the biggest YoY change in June 2022 with a gain from just 2 cars in July 2021 to almost 7,000 cars sold in July 2022
- This skewed YoY gain is because the Celerio was about to get a generation change last year and had less demand as customers were waiting for the update
- Datsun Redi-Go was discontinued

- The Santro witnessed the biggest drop of 57% MoM decline in sales, which is a fall from negligible 7 units to even smaller 3 units in July 2022
- Kwid is the second biggest loser in MoM with 48% drop
